Valerie Cole, the IPRI Director of Web Art,
is our youngest and probably most talented team member. Born and
raised on a small farm in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Ms. Cole made
a career of quitting learning environments that have not lived up
to her high standards and expectations and ended up being home-schooled.
Valerie was given her first computer when she was seven years old
and has been working on one ever since. She began her professional
life long before she graduated from high school.
Now 20, Ms. Valerie Cole has around 5 years
of professional web design experience and 4 years web graphics/new
media experience. In the fall 2002, Valerie will continue her academic
career as a New Media student at the Rochester Institute of Technology
A consummate professional web artist, and
undoubtedly a perfectionist, Ms. Cole does not "feel that extremely
talented", nor even extremely creative. She believes that her
major talents are "determination, discipline and constant motion
toward .. [her] goals".
Well, the IPRI team begs to differ. Yes,
we all admire Ms. Cole's determination, discipline, patience, and
work ethics, but we are just as highly impressed with her creative
talents. Her artistic talents make us feel both a little jealous,
and extremely fortunate to have her on our stuff. To see Ms. Cole's
work exhibited in the IPRI gallery, which she designed and of which
she is the curator, please click here.
