The IPRI Website (the "Website") is owned and operated by the Internet Psychology Research Institute (IPRI), an Oregon-registered non-profit, virtual, international research and educational organization.

Please review the following basic rules and policies that govern use of our site and constitute agreement (the "Agreement"). Please note that by using the site you, the reader of the document, agree to follow and be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. The phrase "Internet Psychology Research Institute" and the related acronym "IPRI" are trade names of our organization and may not be duplicated under any circumstances.

Unless otherwise noted, all text, images, illustrations, designs, icons, photographs, video clips, and other materials that are part of this site (collectively, the "Contents"), are copyrighted works or other intellectual properties owned, controlled, or licensed by IPRI and it's members. The site as a whole is protected by copyright, all worldwide rights, titles and interests in, and which are owned by IPRI. The Contents of this site, and the site as a whole, are provided for educational and informational purposes, and intended only for non-profit educational use by the visitors and users of the IPRI site, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Transfer of Information to Third Parties Policy

As a research organization, to measure our visitors' interest in and use of various areas of our website, the IPRI will rely on collecting aggregate information, which is information that does not identify you personally. With this aggregate information, we may undertake statistical and other summary analyses of our website visitors' behavior and broad user characteristics. Although we may share this aggregate information and research with third parties, please rest assured that no information we provide to third parties will allow anyone to identify you personally, or determine anything personal about you as an individual.

In the event that IPRI may wish to transfer any user's personal information to a third party, you agree that IPRI may do so, on the condition that any such third party agrees to abide by IPRI's current Privacy Policy.

Data Collection by Third Parties Policy

IPRI explicitly forbids third parties to collect any data from our site without our express permission. IPRI strictly enforces the Privacy Policy of never revealing personal data to any and all third parties, unless such parties accept donations and process contributions on the behalf of IPRI.

Cannot Sign, Do Not Publish Policy

IPRI has adopted the Open Review and Discussion Board policies, which totally dispense with anonymous publications at our Website.

According to the Open Review Policy, all peer reviews must be signed by their authors. All authors whose submissions are being reviewed may respond to their reviewers. In other words, IPRI will have no anonymous peer reviews.

IPRI has Discussion Boards both for the general public, i.e. Internet Psychology Forums, and for the Virtual Research Faculty, i.e. Virtual Faculty Research Forums.

According to the IPRI Discussion Board Policy, all text posted at the forums must be signed by users' real names. While all visitors to the Website are welcome and encouraged to read what has been posted on the Internet Psychology discussion forums, to publish their ideas, users are required 1) to become registered authorized users, and 2) to sign their own names under their posts.

WARNING: ALTHOUGH THIRD PARTIES ARE EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN TO COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION AT THE IPRI WEB SITE, THE USER SHOULD BE WARNED THAT REVEALING THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES AT THE DISCUSSION BOARDS MAY RESULT IN THE THIRD PARTY HARVESTING THAT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM THE IPRI DISCUSSION BOARDS.

Discussion Boards Policy

IPRI reserves the right to edit and even remove from the discussion boards any written material that is deemed inappropriate for public forums, without permission from or notification to the author.

Please be advised that the discussion boards will be moderated and screened for general rudeness and hurtful speech. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane materials, or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal or civil offense, or otherwise violate any law.

IPRI users are granted the privilege to publish their ideas and opinions at the IPRI discussion forums for as long as they agree to be civil toward one another and take credit for their own ideas and opinions.

IPRI assumes no responsibility for or liability arising from the content of any such postings. IPRI assumes no responsibility for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger or inaccuracy contained in any information posted on the Website.

IPRI will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting that IPRI disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.

Authorized Registered Users and the User Registration Policy

Access to and use of certain portions of the site and some of the Contents are restricted to authorized registered users of the site ("Authorized Registered Users"). Authorized Registered Users shall be limited to those users who 1) submit a registration form and 2) agree to use their real name in discussions forums, publications, and peer reviews. Users must submit a completed registration form to IPRI online; the Registration Form must be processed by IPRI for you to become a Registered User.

By submitting a Registration Form to IPRI, you agree to the terms of use agreement as spelled out herewith. Users ERs will create their own username and password on registering for the site.

IPRI shall assume that a user presenting a Username and Password is in fact an Authorized User, and it shall be the responsibility of the user that his or her Username and Password is protected by him or her, and used only by him or her.

The user agrees to (a) permit no unauthorized person or entity to access the site under the user's Username and Password; (b) maintain the Username and Password in strict confidence; and (c) agree to abide by the all of the terms and conditions of this Terms of Use agreement.

In addition to any other provision of this Agreement relating to downloading or copying of any Contents or other downloadable materials displayed on the site, each Authorized Registered User expressly acknowledges and agrees that any Contents or other downloadable materials displayed on the site and accessible solely by use of the user's Username and Password (collectively, the "Restricted Contents") may be used solely for noncommercial, educational purposes; you may not reproduce (except as noted above), print, broadcast, alter, circulate, display, create derivative works from, sell, or exploit, in whole or in part, any of the Contents on the site. IPRI responds promptly to notices of assumed copyright infringements that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

The right to download materials posted on the Internet Psychology Research Institute (IPRI) website is granted for the user's personal use and/or as reference material, and/or for teaching aids in a classroom setting. Our Right to Change, Modify, Update, and Terminate this Terms of Use Agreement

IPRI reserves the right to modify and/or update this Agreement as the need arises. Users will be notified at their registered email address of any updates or changes to this Terms of Use Agreement. Additionally, a notice of any such change will be prominently placed at our web site.

This Agreement is standing unless and until terminated by either you, the user, or IPRI. You may terminate this Agreement at any time by delivering a written notice to IPRI. IPRI also may terminate this Agreement at any time and may immediately do so without any notice.

If, in IPRI's sole discretion, you fail to comply with any term or provision of this Agreement or IPRI's policies, you will be denied access to the Website.

Upon termination of this Agreement by either party, you must promptly destroy all materials in your possession, downloaded or otherwise obtained from this Website, as well as all copies of such materials, regardless of whether they were made under the terms of this Agreement or otherwise.

Disclaimer

While IPRI makes every reasonable effort to include accurate and timely information on its Website, we make no guarantees as to the truth or accuracy of the information on the Website. Your use and browsing of the Website is voluntary and at your risk. Neither IPRI nor any other party involved in creating, producing, or delivering the Website is accountable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of the Website. Indemnification and Limitation of Liability

You, the IPRI website user, agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless IPRI, its subsidiaries and affiliates, officers, employees and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, costs, and expenses, including attorney's fees, arising from or related to your use of the Website.

Under no circumstances shall IPRI be liable to any user resulting from that user's use or misuse of, or reliance on, the IPRI content, arising from any claim relating to this agreement or the subject matter hereof. Such limitation of liability shall apply to prevent recovery of any legal damages, whether such a legal claim is based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, (even if IPRI has been advised of the possibility of such damages). Such limitation of liability shall apply whether or not the damages arise from use or misuse of and trust of the IPRI search services, or from an inability to use the IPRI services.

This limitation also to damages incurred from other services or goods received through any links provided in the IPRI site, as well as by any information or advice received through or advertised on the IPRI site, or received through any links provided in the IPRI site. This limitation shall also apply, without limitation, to procurement costs of goods or services, lost profits, or lost data. Such limitation further applies to the performance or non-performance of the IPRI site.

Jurisdiction

Unless otherwise specified, the IPRI site and its Contents are displayed solely for the purpose of providing, educating, promoting, and furthering IPRI's services as set forth in its Mission Statement. The site is controlled and operated by IPRI from its offices in Portland, Oregon.

This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to any conflict of law provisions. The state or federal courts of the State of Oregon shall resolve disputes arising under this Agreement. You hereby agree to submit to the jurisdiction of any such court sitting in the State of Oregon, and agree that venue is proper in the district wherein IPRI is located.

Your Consent to Use This Website

By using the Internet Psychology Research Institute website, you consent to the Terms of Use Agreement, and acknowledge that you are familiar with these terms. By using the IPRI website , you consent to our policies of collection and use of information and other policies that constitute this Agreement.

Miscellaneous Provisions

This Terms of Use Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without giving effect to its conflict of laws provisions or your actual state or country of residence. If, for any reason, a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision or portion of the Terms of Use to be unenforceable, the remainder of the Terms of Use will continue in fully enforced.

These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between the IPRI, the user, and other parties with respect to the subject matter contained on the site, and supersede and replace all prior or simultaneous understandings or written or oral agreements, regarding such content. Any waiver of any provision of the Terms of Use Agreement will be effective only if in writing and approved by the IPPRI Board of Directors.
